For this week’s Client Spotlight, we had the pleasure of chatting with Eliza Collins who
told us a little bit about Herlong & Associates based in Sullivan’s Island, SC.

PLEASE TELL US ABOUT HERLONG & ASSOCIATES:

Herlong & Associates is a full service architecture and interior design firm, specializing in custom coastal home design and residential renovations. Each of our projects represents a design solution created for a specific site, often in the context of dramatic – yet comforting – salt marshes, creeks, or the ocean. The beauty that defines each home was planned with the valuable input of our clients, and as such, reflects their unique character and style. From the Lowcountry of the Carolina coast down to the hillsides of St. Kitts, our homes play as one with the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

HOW WAS HERLONG & ASSOCIATES FOUNDED?:

Herlong & Associates was formed by Stephen Herlong to realize his dream of being one of the Southeast Coast’s premier architects. After working for other firms in the area, Steve founded Herlong & Associates, hiring the best talent in architectural and interior design to compliment his vision of what a true southern coastal home should be.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH RECLAIMED DESIGNWORKS?:

We thoroughly enjoy not only the variety of wood species offered by Reclaimed DesignWorks, but also the stories behind each product offering. We design many legacy homes, and having the ability to put materials with a real historical significance into a new home is such a gift, to both us and the homeowners. The knowledge and responsiveness of the staff is impeccable.

PLEASE NAME ONE INTERESTING FACT ABOUT HERLONG & ASSOCIATES:

Our firm is very motivated by the majesty of the Lowcountry and its abundance of nature. Capturing views and light is a key element to all H&A home designs, as are using organic materials and finishes that enhance the architectural elements of each home. It takes a village, and our team is first rate.
